building new rig with E6600!!!
Corsair XMS2 2GB DDR2 800PRO Intel Core2Duo E6600 2.4GHZ Asus P5B Deluxe RAID 5 w/ 3x160GB SATA2 BFG 7900GS OC That's probably the most interesting part. I will post pics later with the case and everything running. I originally had the P5B standard and some g.skill ram, but It just wasn't working so I rma'd the ram and mobo and got an upgrade on both. I was running 3GHz with the stock fan/cooler with some bios changes. I don't want to crush the CPU but the big difference between AMD and Intel is the OCing potential!! An 800mhZ increase is unheard of... if you aren't into overclocking, i guess what would the intel possess over the AMD? Probably not much at all. anyway, pics will be coming soon... probably within the next 2 days!!! |

Um, I ran my E6600 at 3.4ghz daily with 24/7 load. Many C2D chips are capable of 1ghz overclocks.

LOL! 800MHz overclocks have been common for well over a year now. My E6300 is running 3.4GHz with a minimal voltage boost 24/7 usually fully loaded. That is a 1.57Ghz OC, only 300MHz away from a 100% OC.

ok wow! here is a story:
i orinally had some g.skill 2gb ddr2 800 ram.. but when i started oc'ing it hung a lot in boot... so when i check the qualified vendor list and it wasn't on the list, i rma'd and bought some of the most expensive ram i could... and it happened to be on the vendor list!! so anyway, i also upgraded to p5b deluxe when bios update failed so here are some pics of the final product (just got it up tonight!!!) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() more to come!!!! |
