i'd suggest just using the newest version you also don't need to burn/mount the file as VMware can deal directly with ISO |

At what point do you get these errors?
Don't know how similar the setup is but it was very easily done for me and I've never touched Linux before. It's all GUI and menus so you should have no trouble. The only tricky part with Linux is having it recognize all your hardware but VMware takes care of all that. I had to say this because it's so much trouble getting LAN and sound trying to do a native Linux install. After having read all the readme files and after 3 hours I gave up. I'm a bit irritated to say the least. While I'm at it, does anyone know how to get drivers for the P5B Dlx working in Linux? I don't know how to compile and install these drivers. |

i've never still installed 6.06, but i know the lastest version is so easy, you boot up once. it acts like a live disk. then you click "install" which is on the desktop
then it reboots starts the install and next thing you know your finished |

Additional Comment: i raised my CPU from 3ghz to 3.2ghz (been meaning to do it for days but didn't wanna stop folding but i also put the extra 1gb stick back in the system so i took the time to do everything at once Additional Comment: should raise my PPD up to about 2000PPD with these new units... i wish i could get the CPU to 3.6ghz.... i'd be pushing 2500PPD per CPU Last edited by Taichan : 02-15-2007 at 01:18 AM. Welcome Nobleman
Post up what all you have folding including stats of OC and client. I'll get you and your rigs added!Additional Comment: Quote:
Are you serious we can push that much PPD from just 1 CPU? Always thought maybe around 1500ppd tops. I do notice there will be more and more 260x units since they just added the 2604. Good ppd right there

Yeah those regular text client times are very long in comparison. Not to mention points are terrible in comparison as well.
For 3025 units, my 6300@3.3 gets about 6:00 or so /% while the 3027 units get 7:00 or so/%. 260x units are like 12:00/%. |

That is pretty long. Maybe I'm remembering wrong but it most certainly didn't take 30 min. / %
Anyone else have times to compare? |
