Running 32bit Ultimate on my lappy with Aero turned off. I like it. The only bug I have seen is in Dreamweaver (crashes anytime I explore directories with it). Office 2007 is the biggest jump in Office in a long time, I thouroughly enjoy it. Excel is totally rocking now. Equation writer is perfect for taking notes in my electronics classes.

Didn't upgrade from Win2k until SP2 came out for Win XP so I think I will be chilling with XP until Vista gets a service pack or two.

I don't understand. My friend bought Vista Home Basic. Why oh why?! For the simple "features" it offers? Come on, the good stuff starts in Premium..

I'm running 32bit RC2 (I'm broke) on my lappy and my main machine, don't have any problems except slack Nvidia and Toshiba drivers. All my apps work no problems. Will definitely get the real version before RC2 expires, only home premium though cos ultimate is way too pricey for the features that you get

Positive-
Easy to crack (I didn't write that I do have a legit version now)
Clean
Easy to use
Good driver support (standard components)
Easy for raid drivers
Easy, non time intensive install
The only os that will support dx10!!!

Negitive-
$$$$$
needs a dx 9 card to run windows, wtf
problems with dream scene and games running at the same time
slower fps
they moved everything around!!!!!
uses 300+ megs pf on a clean install
that security crap is annoying

overall, I'd say it's a good os, especially if you have a decent system with a decent amount of ram.

Just to clarify....you only need a DX9 card for Aero. You can still run Vista on less (I do).

What bugs specifically are people talking about? Seems to me the major issue people complain about is with drivers and that's mainly a hardware vendor issue not an OS bug. Some state that Vista x64 itself has little driver support, well how much support does XP x64 have? Still others complain about the hardware requirements to run the OS. As high as those requirements may be, they are not bugs. People also complain about the annoying security of Vista. Albeit annoying, it's not faulty.
I'm not saying there aren't any bugs in Vista and I'm certainly not a 'fanboy' blindly supporting MS, but I would seriously like to hear about the actual bugs related to Vista that MS are directly responsible for and that are not a result of poorly coded third-party drivers.

Now, give me a head start to get on my flame suit
