wiped out HDD, iPod has songs on it

my friend had to wipe his HDD b/c his brother got mad viruses on it.

Thank God though, he had all his songs on his iPod, and THEN wiped it out.

Is there ANY way to put the songs from his iPod, back ONTO his computer? He's desperate...

Thanks.

set the ipod to disk use, then under folder options set "show hidden and system files" on. then navigate to the Ipod control folder. copy the music folder to your desktop.

Then drag and drop that whole folder into itunes, consolodate library and then you can delete it off your desktop.

the folder will have a bunch of folders in it with random letters, songs will have random letters as well but itunes will pull all the information from the ID3 or whatever ID tags.

after that, it'll just basically piece it back together, to all the original songs?... single files and what not, how they were b/f they were on the iPod?

Thanks.

In iTunes there is a setting where you can tell it to organise the iTunes music folder. Move the music folder that jimmer said about and then add the iTunes folder in and it will put them into artist>album and delete the empty folders for you.

Good Luck
