It has a plugin called firebug lite, which might do what you're asking. Could you be more specific?

And by plugin, I mean plugin for IE7pro, not IE7 itself. IE7pro has little scripts that plugin and work almost exactly like greasemonkey. In fact, scripts for greasemonkey work in IE7pro as well. You just have to rename the file

It's best we just stop arguing about it, some prefer this some prefer that, but we can all say theyre all better then IE6.

So yes IE6 sucks. The rest = abstain. I use Firefox, could not be happier, and will not be happier, even if I tried learning Opera or IE7, which I will get the hand of eventually, but I will stay a firefox user
I'm not trying to, but i'm fed up with people constantly telling "ie sux lol get ff2 ftw". The two browsers are nearly identical. usually, if I blindly switch applications, I don't even notice which browser i'm using untill I look at the taskbar.

Additional Comment:

Here's screencaps of some IE7pro things.
Adblocking:

Scripts:

The other features I don't use THAT much, like super drag n' drop or mouse gestures, but I don't use them in firefox either. I just wanted to show my personal favorite features.
Also, I just found this about why firefox is not really better than IE in most of the areas people have argued.

Too bad it can't stop flash from raping the browser if I accidentally click a site like last-measure. Too bad I can't change the font consistently. Too bad it still has a memory leak. Too bad the tabs don't work the way I want them to. Too bad it doesn't use clear-type on the fonts". Every time I try a new version of FF, I use it for a month or so and then just switch back.
You're back to comparing the browsers, based on things that largely come down to preference. You prefer the features that IE offers, I get that, no argument there. Like I said; each to their own.

What you wanted to know when you opened this thread, is why IE is considered to be the worst browser. The rendering engine IS why.

You are trying to get an answer by comparing the front end functionality of the browsers, the favour of which is something that, again, largely comes down to personal preference.

To look at this another way; I don't like Opera. The interface just doesn't feel right, I don't feel comfortable using it. That's my personal preference; Firefox > Opera. There are some who see it the other way, and they are more than welcome to that opinion.

Now here's the thing; right here right now, Opera does a better job of conforming to the standards than Firefox does. However, Mozilla are constantly working to improve the rendering engine, and the browser in general. For example; the next major release of Firefox passes the Acid 2 test. Microsoft on the other hand, make minimal (if any?) effort to see IE better conform to the standards. I think everyone was expecting to see a new standards compliant rendition of IE, in IE7, but it didn't happen.

All I'll finish with saying is; don't underestimate the issue. I stress; it costs a LOT of extra time and work to have IE behave correctly. The work arounds are not few and far between, most of the time they will play a part on every page that's CSS dependant. It's important to remember that the source of the wide spread hate for IE, is it's rendering engine, which I hope will give you some idea of the scale of issue, and the hassle it's caused over the years.

Anyway, I hope that at least in some way answers the questions which inspired you to open this thread. All the best.

I use IE7 and I have not had a single popup. The information bar at the top clearly comes up and asks if you want to allow them. You probably changed something in your configuragtion.

Or you could have clicked on the Tools Icon and select the Menu option.

Don't ask why unless you want to join them.
I like the firefox interface better, but on my main PC that runs XP Pro x64, qt videos dont play. But in IE7 they do, so If im on youtube or something, I switch to IE7.

I HATE firefox. My list of grievances are as follows:

-takes forever to load
-sometimes just crashes for no reason
-sometimes just refuses to load a page unless i refresh
-also occasionally just ignores the fact that a web page has pictures

Tabbed browsing used to be on the list, because it's possibly the most annoying thing ever; but ie7 adopted that so i cant really hold it against FF. I believe that there is a reason for there to be a taskbar, and that's for buttons to be on it. The only valid reason there could be to have tabbed browsing that i can think of is that you have too many windows open and need the space, but i dont really think theres a need to have 20 things open at once. To use that, over something that comes with windows, just seems stupid to me. I used opera back in the day, when i had dial up, and it made dialup much more bearable.

I use tabbed browsing for things like when I'm posting here, and need to get a newegg link real quick. I open a new tab, go to Newegg, get the link, close the tab, paste the link on good 'ol EOC.

Right click where the tabs are (or the menu bar) and click menu bar... It's not like they hid it or anything, this was the first thing I had to change when I used IE7 for the first time.

its rediculous to have to download and setup so much stuff to use something that really isnt much faster or memory efficient than ie anyways. I dont really get the whole "omg lets fellate firefox" thing. I used it when i completely broke my IE install, and it was agonizing.

It's tough switching from browser to browser. I switched from IE6 to Firefox 3 years ago, and going from crap to something very good for its time was pretty easy. I tried Opera a year ago but it was tough learning a new interface and I didn't feel like it was anything better.

My ideal is this: If I have no complaints with Firefox why switch to something new and different?!

Tabbed browsing is a god-send... couldn't do without it to be honest.

Also there's a mod for firefox that allows you to switch rendering to IE... so no excuse not to use it really.

eh.. firefox is just too ugly and bloaty looking for me... i like it to look pretty barebones... small unobtrusive icons... menus, etc.

ie6 used to be my preferred browser... the release of ie7 prompted me to search for alternatives.

I am with you there. I usually switch to FF when my IE decides to break, thankfully which doesnt happen often. The one thing I do like about FF is its small download size. You can get the whole deal in just 5mb. i got my friend to send it to me over pidgin when my IE wouldn't even open.
