1 8800GTS is going to be better than two lower end cards in SLI for several reasons. One is that you'll always get excellent performance in games. SLI isn't always supported or even terribly useful in some games. Also you'll need to make for more adjustments in the control panel when SLI is used. Whenever a new games comes out that doesn't have an SLI profile you will either have to adjust the global profile or create your own. Plus if you opt for a single 8800GTS now, you can add a second one later whenever you feel you need it.

In my opinion, SLI on anything less than the 8800GTS is a waste of money when there is a single card that isn't much more expensive that will out perform it, or perform more consistently across the board and take up less PCIe x16 slots.

Those cards in that Review are the 8600GTS which are substantially better than the 8600GT, Just go with the 320MB 8800GTs, its a great price and will still wipe the floor with the 8600s in SLI

Agreed; the 8800gts 320mb is plenty sufficient if you are running 1600x1200 or lower resolution, and can be had for around $250 these days; watch the Deals forum .
