Quad Core: Really worth it right now, or wait for the newer architecture?

Also, isn't there an Intel price cut coming, or am I thinking AMD? Like up to 50% off CPUs?

Thanks a million for that chart, it's exactly what I was looking for. I saw it earlier and have not been able to find it since now.

So, of those CPUs, which one would be the best one to go with? Also, 2.0GJz? Typo?

Quad 6600 is the only one with the gigantic price drop. And from what I've heard even though the new E6850 will open at 3.0 ghz it wont clock higher then the 6700. It is however supposed to run a little cooler. But I say go with the quad. Ive been waiting 2 months to build my computer when this price drop comes around. I hope Intel isnt just jerking us!
