the game is way cool, I did not post here for the 8 months I played. I really did not do much, but play. I am glad I did but I am glad I don't anymore.

I played the Beta long time ago... and **** this game was good! Because of it's addiction....!!!! I'm not a MMORPG player at all but I found this game very cool!

But man... you have to pay to play this game and if you can't control you it will ruin your life...! ahah! So for that this game sux as hell!

Don't do it!

I completely agree with everyone here, don't do it. I started in beta, figured, hey its only $15... yeah, right. I raided five nights a week and farmed for repair gold the other two. Over 150 days played... that's like 50 days a year for the last three years. I woke up in January this year and just decide i need to get my life back and went cold turkey lol. Finally got the courage and control to reload it but now I only play a few hours a month, and that's even tempting lol.

It's addictive bud, just know what you could be getting into. You're better off playing games that have an end lol. just my 2 cents.

I managed to play for about half an hour before I had to stop. A friend of mine payed for three months of playtime, and played for about a week.

How can anyone judge a game from 3 minutes of gameplay? I rarely see any major RP going on and there isn't even an official RP server. I play on the UNofficial RP server and still I only see RP here and there. Rarely.

I have played every major MMO in recent years and LOTRO was the best least bugged release I've seen yet. Also it is one of the most beautiful MMO's if not THE most beautiful MMO period. (Beautiful as in graphics engine).

Game play is simply fantastic. I have no idea how you can say its a pile of toss. Then again you only played for three minutes meaning you never made it out of the starting sequence, (training area). You have no idea how good this game is.

That said, to each his own. It's not for everyone for sure. I played WOW for a month and decided it wasn't for me. Cartoonie graphics do not go far with me. Not to mention the graphic engine is blah anyway.

LOTRO offers so much...it's awesome. Like I stated though; ii's not for everyone.

if you do end up playing pick a PVP realm....
If you dont everyone will hate you... cuz everyone i know plays on pvp realms but im the one stuck on a PVE realm

Or, you can play on whatever type of realm you want. I played on a PvE realm because I liked being able to just go and level when I wanted to level, not having to worry about being slaughtered by some dude 20 levels higher than me 14 times in a row.

WoW does suck but if you're going to play it don't be a panzy and go PVP. The most successful PVE guilds are on PVP servers. Being able to work in a team in a dynamic environment such as BGs or, especially, world PVP will significantly increase your ability to kill bosses. Bosses may be A-B-A-B-C, but PVP experience will hone your ability to react to something unexpected.

You don't need to be on a PVP server to play in the battlegrounds, which I know you know, but others may not. I played on a PvE server, but I spent tons of time in the battlegrounds.

Yeah and PVE servers on battlegroups get steamrolled by PVP servers.

So basically what you're saying is the graphics are better on LOTRO so it's a better game? Well personally I've always prefered gameplay and LOTRO played like ****. I bet the 'pvp' is slow as hell, about as exciting as watching paint dry. I could never see any competative pvp ever coming out that game the way it is. Also, FYI, I did get out of the starting area, out into some big snowy mountains which, tbh, looked like ****.

I though WoW was "ok" when I got to level 25 or so I was getting really hooked. The only reason I stopped was my Motherboard failed. I was a Level 68 Rogue, it was way cool

I didn't say that because the graphics are better that it makes LOTRO better overall than WoW. In fact if you actually look at my post that you quoted you will read:

Everything about LOTRO is better than wow, graphics, sound, gameplay, the amount of things to do, crafting, etc.

If you only played 3 minutes you did not play enough to pass judgement on this game. And by the way...The snowy area is the starters area.

I on the other hand played WoW for a solid month and then decided it wasn't for me.

Its ok that you don't like LOTRO dude. Lets just agree to disagree.
