163.44 ones for bioshock
i find it strange that ati cards do better in this bench since its opengl..in the past it was always nvidia cards owning opengl benchmarks. Then again ati has improved their opengl performance loads since fetching out their memory ring bus.

kev what drivers are you running?
163.44 Beta for Vista64 because the last drivers I installed (162.18) gave me the nvlddmkm error message constantly. Bear in mind the paint on this pc is still drying so it is a totally new beast to me.

ps I hit a problem on the other link posted up there ^^^ any thoughts?

kevlewis i'd switch to xp for time being, see if that improves your system overall. Vista still needs alot of work before its faster than xp.

Dont tempt me lol. I run XP Pro on my other computers and I just fancied a change. I'm not looking to set the world on fire with a unbeatable rig just tweak it to optimise the performance it can give me Plus it gives all you guys on XP something to chuckle about lol

you could always dual boot, switch between them both at will

death when i said ati cards do better i wasn't on about purecain crossfire setup, i meant Climhazard89 X1900XTX 512MB score.
my 1510 score is at like 700Mhz core 1620 Mhz memory
at 720Mhz core !620 Mhz memory i score lower meaning the score reduces with errors so it's very touchy with regards to speeds on core too fast results in lower scores due to unseen errors.

Azerman 6800 gt = 435 points [s] x

last score was terrible, so I enabled Hyper-threading (like that really helps )
and overclocked the 6800gt to 400/1112mhz...not much better, but I'll take what I can get.

Best method for setting up dual boot if I have Vista64 already installed? I thought it was necessary to have the older system loaded first to get a dual boot?

would imagine you would need to use 3rd party program..but yes you are correct usually if xp is installed first vista install sorts out the rest.

after I locked up my pc and had to clear the bios I tested the renderer at default settings and got EXACTLY the same result as the oc'ed run. CPU seems to be irrelevant to this test

i thought my score seemed low.

it would seem as though the newer nVidia beta drivers for bioshock aren't very performance oriented.

i think i'm going to drop back to the 162.22, they seemed much more stable.
