Who else bought it?

I was at my friends house when i saw the 3870 on newegg. I wanted to buy it but they were out of stock quick. So i bought it at another site and i cant wait for it to come in the mail next week. I want to know who else bought this card. Everyone saying this card is weaker than the gt but i can careless because it will own the gts everyone was wet on. I was to a nvidia fan boy but amd has the cheaper card.

your forgetting the original GTS was first gen dx10 card and beat down the 2900XT until only recently when they seem to be about 50/50 depending on the game. ATI have had over a year to develop a card that barely scrapes past it. There is still the 8800GT, 8800GTS SSC, 8800GTX and 8800 Ultra all more powerful than the 3870. There is also another GTS refresh coming next month aswell as the new 9xxxx series in Q1 08. nVidias priced their cards higher because they can afford to as it provides better performance. Its called Business. That being said they are good value for money.

Youre right. But the 8800gtsSSC is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130300 369 dollars plus shipping.

On the other hand the out of stock 3870 is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814131072
219.00 dollars plus tax.

But youre right its bussiness!

Good purchase! I wasn't on my P's and Q's and let the newegg deal slip away. I fully expect them to price gouge when the 3870's are back in stock. ZZF is already gouging.

+50 on the MSRP of the 3870 for signficiant performance boost is the 8800GT. And yes, they are competitors.

another good thing about the 3870....is if you have a crossfire board you can't utilize 2 8800 gt's. if you have a crossfire board the ati 3870's are a way better buy...will last you alot longer

Additional Comment:

couldn't agree more. and with the great intel chipset based boards that have come out recently, if you own one and go the nVidia route, you're always going to be bound by single card performance.

I just ordered a new gaming pc with the 3870 in it. Should be fun.

Additional Comment:

They are available to pre-order for when they are back in stock at amazon.com for $259 with free shipping. I just ordered one so that I can run in crossfire when I get my new system.
