ASUS mobo monitoring

Can anyone else out there tell me from there experience which is more accurate in monitoring temps on their ASUS boards - the BIOS readouts or the ASUS Probe app? I get different temps in each while idling, anywhere from a 4 to 8 degree (celcius) difference. Needless to say this makes monitoring temps somewhat difficult...

Well, it's probably just the boards you've purchased. Mine works correctly and is accurate. BTW, if your sensor is off in the program what the hell difference is it going to make using something else? I guess anyone can make a prog that lies about your temps, hehe. ASUS Probe works fine for me...

Don't ask why unless you want to join them.
I would trust the bios, have you tried MBM5? My temp sensor on My A7V266 E in this app was exactly what the bios said and both were wrong. I measured the bord temp and the CPU temp with an infrared thermo and set the offset accordingly.

Hey Rob. Just how off are they? I use mbm 5 and it is nearly always the same as my bios. I used Asus Probe, and it read higher for idle temps.

that's weak. Check out this on air cooling. just 2 front intake, 2 exhaust and 1 side fan. Oh, 1 of the front fans is blowing on my hdds, so that really does not count.

Im going to try MBM5. I use Asus probe and it says my CPU is 55-60șC when Idleing and about the same when working, dispite I the fact that I spent money on an Aluminium case with 2 intake fans and 1 large outtake fan, big PSU with big extractor fans and a piped radiator heatsink and fan.

It says my Motherboard temp is about 30șC which it is not, because my cast is very cold when you touch it and when I take the side off and put my hand it, its colder than the outside temp.

Hmm, im at 1.97v with a 2400+ @ 2492mhz (14 x 178mhz) with watercooling and my BIOS says 20c idling, Asus probe says 30c, and MBM5 says 44-48c. I don't know what to believe

BIOS temps are always lower than OS temps because there is no real strain on the CPU, and it has just started to get warm... Also, it shouldn't matter what program you use to check them, because if the sensor is off, it will send the same data to all of them... I like MBM5 myself though.

BIOS is ALWAYS lower... there is no load on the CPU. Also, like I said, it is the same signal coming from the same crappy asus probe that is going to BIOS or ANY program.
