hey I noticed that running it as a service, when I finnally do restart my computer, it erases my work and start over. Do I need to set something up differently? I went back to console version for now because it restarts where it left off

me too, ive done it three time already. oh well. I followed it to the letter and I can get it to run as a service fine but it wont resume when I shut down and restart. I lost alot of WU's last week because I didnt know it was happening until I looked in the folder right after I restarted

When installing it as a service under Win 2k and XP Pro you should have the console version set up and all config entries made. then stop the app before you run the setup for services. and make sure you remember to remove the shortcut in the start up file if you made one. If not you will get an error and your work unit will be deleted.

let me do a little investigatio9n and I will get back to you I know you will have to remove the registry entries and remove netsvc from the system32 file. I will research it and make sure it works and post back later.

as far as netsvc it can be deleted from the system32 folder or just left there it will not hurt anything

yeah you can leave it there if ya want, If I am not using something I personally ditch just in case a problem arises down the road I won't have to try and remember what was where etc. and it makes my backups more precisely exactly what I need.
