Just got an 8800GTS, now need a PSU that can handle it...

Ok guys I just got an 8800GTS and my old PSU can't handle it - I'm getting blue screens and shutdowns if I try to play a game. Anyways, I need something CHEAP that can power this video card. Suggestions???

Here's what else I'm powering in my system:

AMD X2 5600
2GB Micron RAM
2 internal ide HDDs
2 DVD/RWs

Thanks!
Mike

There is a solid unit that will run it with plenty of head room.

What makes this one better than my current PSU?

Current power supply:
500W "Hercules Switching Power Supply"
115VAC 7.0A 50/60Hz 230VAC 3.5A 50/60Hz

Because the Xclio unit uses solid internals and has a good reputation. Its also built by a reputable company and has much more wattage/amperage than your current psu even though they are rated for 500 w each.

The Xclio is far superior to the Hercules unit.

The one thing to not skimp on is the PSU. Why? Because if it's a quality unit it cleans the power to the system, is stable and doesn't under or overvolt, and doesn't cause other components to break. A cheap PSU will break components easier and take a thousand dollars when it does break.

You get what you paid for... and you don't want a Free power supply!

Quality, stability, and reliability come with a price.

Look into crossair and OCZ power supply's they are the companies i would trust. i also just bought a 8800 card not to long ago. you should look at somthing around 700w. and you say its 7.0A your current?? yea trash that and look for the highest number you can in that range.
