E8400 OC advice

This is my first Intel OC. Currently I'm at

4.185Ghz
465 FSB
memory 5.5.5.15

My voltages seem a little off. If I bump my ram +.4 the bios reports 2.06. +.5 will give me about 2.18. The CPU is the same. I can get 1.38 if I set it for 1.425. Is this ok or am I playing with fire? Can I go +.6 on the ram? It seems like I will need to if I want to reach 2.2. I'm worried it's not being reported right.

Should I be bumping the voltage on the FSB or North Bridge?

Finally, one of my cores is always 10 degrees hotter than the other. That's odd right?

Core1 48 idle 60 load
Core2 42 idle 48 load

I'm going to reseat the block this weekend.

Don't go over 2.2v on the RAM you will most likely let the smoke out if you do.

Where are you reading your voltages from? Ive never seen that much vdrop before in RAM. You set it in the BIOS, and it should be that voltage. For those sticks 2.2v is the max on performance settings.

Are you certain you are fully loading both cores? A few degrees are normal.

I’m reading the voltage in the BIOS. After I make a voltage change I’ll reboot and go back into the BIOS and check System Health to see what the current voltage is. Is there somewhere else I should look?

Those temps are whacked even at idle so I don’t think it’s a load issue. The BIOS reports 29C as the core temp which is also odd.

Ive never seen a bios not set then read the voltages correctly. So you are telling me that your memory is set @ 2.4 and its showing 2.06 in the bios?

I think the default is 1.8 so +.4 should put me at 2.2 but 2.06 is reported.

Running more than 2.2V will kill Ballistix prematurely. Make sure you get some active cooling or have good case airflow (feel the RAM and make sure it's not hot).

I don't think I'm going to push it much further I was stable at 4.23 for a while but I don't want to risk more volage when I'm not sure if it's reading correct. Is Everest free?

I got my memory at 5:6 1116 5.5.5.15.
