Finally got an 8800gt

Just upgraded from my x850xt ATI Radeon. I was just wanting to show it off and ask some questions about the card.
card purchased: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127329

1. What program can I use to overclock and monitor temp (something like ATI Tool)?
2. I was wanting to buy a 2nd one for SLi (do you think its a good idea?)

pics below thanks for all the help in my other question threads.

Don't ask why unless you want to join them.
nice buy! Gotta change the sig now

I use rivatuner to set the clock speed then run ATI tool artifact scan. Unlink and see what max shader you can get first as it will give you the best performance boost, then go core and mem last. Also usually have the the clock/temp graph up in rivatuner as the clocks usually jump in 10-20mhz intervals

As far as sli, what resolution you use and what games cant you max with 1?

im running 1440x900, where do i find the overclocking utilities in Rivatuner? I see the tab that says "power user" is that what i am supposed to be in? the msi software has the D.O.T. (Dynamic Overclocking Technology) controls built into it but idk if i want to use that because im not lazy.

You could also strap 2 more 80mm fans to that cooler and really fly I had the Zalman VF1000 and it was basically the same idea, well I added 2 80's and man I had a 8800GTX on air OC'd at 52*C load

Use this one from evga. It's much easier and faster to use.

You won't need to ask how to use this one.

It does'nt do the fan-temp related adjustments but it has ten profile memory's which are very easy to set up.

It's so much easier and FASTER to use than rivatuner it's not even funny.

I have achieved my best 3dmark06 and Crysis bench runs using the new precision overclocking tool from evga.

Rivatuner = bloated and outdated POS.

I don't know what all that evga stuff is floating around, It makes it too easy and disables features that are useful once you start figuring stuff out, Check This
Out. I personally have it set using thresholds for the fan and down clocks to stock when it gets too hot eg 80c even though some people consider it a normal temp, Also look at this for oc'ing basics just look at pg 5/6 thats pretty much it, Theres a shader now the guide was old but tells how to start it up, Once you spend the time on them you will end up worshiping the fan profiles .

You don't need SLI at that resolution. One GT will pretty much give you the max framerates you're gonna get.
