Change CPU asus F9s
I got a asus F9s notebook with a core 2 duo T7100 1,8ghz socket P I've see in the last bios upgrade readme that it supports the new penryn cpu. I want to buy a core 2 duo T8300 for replace my T7100, is it possible??? Thank you for yours answers |

If it says it supports it, it should, but don't take my word for it.
Ask ASUS support. At least they should be able to answer that. |

Check the bios upgrades, that might give you some indication as to whether the cpu will work.

You probably can.
However, will it even be necessary? I have a T7200 2GHz in my Asus G1, and IMO in its current state it's not worth upgrading the CPU. My GPU is bottlenecking anyway. And these CPU packs alot of power. IMO don't upgrade to the T8300, wait for something better, such as the T9300. There's too short of an upgrade between the T7100 and the T8300 that you wouldn't really notice it. |
