Could this work

Is the OCZ 600W GameXStream Power Supply w/ Quad +12V good enough for SLI 8800's ??

Specs:
eVga 750i SLI FTW mobo
intel e8400
8800 GT x2
600W OCZ PSU
2gb corsair ddr2
500 gb HDD

then WHAT is it that is causing my computer to just randomly shut down ???

Additional Comment:

see i basically made a new rig yesterday and i dont even have the OS installed... so im installing it and then like maybe 10 min. from when i started the computer, it just shuts down.

The GXS line based on the FSP Epsilon design has ripple and noise issues at heavy loads - yours counts as a heavy load to that 600W. I was never very impressed with this design.

Try a Corsair HX620, TX650, or TX750 instead - that should do it.

Could also be a RAM/mobo issue.

Could also be thermal issues. Make sure your heatsink is properly mounted on the CPU.
