The Pro is GSM. At one point there may be a CDMA version. I heard the Diamond was coming to Sprint. Pro is just speculation.

OT: I installed JD's ROM because everyone was raving about how awesomely fast it was.

On a fresh soft reset, the memory manager reads about 21MB free, which isn't AWESOME but decent IMO.

My phone has been on all day now and all the apps are closed except for the memory manager and I'm reading 13.46MB free.

I'm flashing back to DCD's 3.2.5.

Try a no2chem. I use 5066 and it's really good on memory. I can boot with 25MB free and during the day it stays around 20.

Yeah that's what I thought. Lol.

I'm glad though because my 2 year contract ends in February so I can get an upgrade and by that time there will be a few updates so all the bugs will be gone.

CDMA phones are always way more expensive than they need to be, even with the 2-year discount. I think Sprint is cheaper than Verizon, however.

I had 5067 installed, but it's just not what I wanted. I have DCD 3.2.5 installed right now, it's doing pretty good.

Maybe when I'm bored later tonight I'll cook my own version of 5067 in the Kitchen.

Stock ROM's on a phone (especially PPC's) contain lots of "bloatware", if you will. Some people (no2chem, dcd, etc.) create their own ROM from the stock ROM, and depending on who makes it, strips it down to the core components, getting rid of much the crap preinstalled on the phone. This in turn makes the phone run faster and better. Some others add in extras, like aftermarket programs, custom made programs, registry tweaks, performance hacks...

This is kinda hard to explain but to cook your own ROM is to take one of those third party ROM's (no2chem's NueROM, 5067, dcd's 3.2.5, etc.) and open it up in a kitchen program of some sort (see www.ppckitchen.org). This allows you to add any OEM components and aftermarket CAB files to it, which allows much more flexability to the ROM itself. You get to choose what you want installed on the aftermarket ROM, such as any navigation programs, task manager programs, whatever.
