Unhappy Trying to find Drivers for a Presario M2000.

So I recieved a laptop from my manager, she wants me to fix it. It wouldn't boot up into windows at all, not even into safe mode, so I formatted it, now everything's fine except I can't get the audio or wireless adapter working. They're listed as the unknown in device manager and she doesn't have the original software that came with the laptop.

The best I can tell you is it's a CompaQ Presario M2000, and I don't know whether it was a module or if it's built into the computer, but I imagine it's built in, since it lists a network controller as a ? and my realtek is detected and installed.

If any of you know about these laptops, could you please give me a hand? Thanks!

*EDIT* Manufacturer drivers off their website DO NOT work.

It's possible that it is a Presario M2000 Series, but has a different model number such as M2005US. Take a look at the back to see if the model # is different than the series #.

The drivers for the series don't include a chipset driver. The other stuff won't install correctly until it's loaded.

Still no luck, it was just the M2000. Chipset driver eh? The only one i can find is an intel chipset, but this is an AMD processor.

Reformatted a M2000 about a year ago with a standard oem xp pro disk and had trouble with the wireless drivers, from what I remember, I had to run Identification software, the drivers took me about a week to find, I used drivers that I found on the HP site, specific to the actual hardware and not the laptop and they worked without a hitch.

Best I can give is pn number EC214UA#ABA and a service tag of M2105US which aren't listed.

Additional Comment:

Wait nevermind I found it somehow. Hehe, Thank you all for showing me about that list!

Glad you found it.

Their site is actually pretty nice once you get used to it. I had an old 2100 Series notebook & found the assembly manual so I could upgrade the CPU. Beats breaking plastic bits trying to get it apart. lol

As I said previously, identify your parts and search the site using the hardware it's far easier. Glad you got it sorted.
