your current rig looks a lot like the one I upgraded from last year. Hopefully nvidia will release their 9300 and 9400 intel chipsets that should be inexpensive but have great performance. Last I heard they should be out by the end of the month.
I got a Q6600 sitting on a shelf waiting for one. Also, I wouldn't do the 2x9600GTs. Go for a 9800 GT or GTX+. You'll get better frame rates and you won't have to worry if a game and/or drivers are optimized for SLI.
