Is this normal?

So I've set my 4850 to default clock and I set my fan to 100 and the temps gets up to 75-80C while playing Crysis.

Not when the fan speed is @ 100%.

OP, are you sure the fan speed is working? Do you hear a jet turbine in your room? If not, it most likely isn't working because if you're getting those temps are full blast something is wrong. I'd open ze case and check to make sure things are ok.

If you have set the fan on 100 it should be LOUD.....Good its sounds like a turbine...Well mine doesn't get that hot( i have a 4870) Only hits the upper 60's every now and then i would say theres something wrong with the card itself....when did you buy it?

Well that's odd. There's 3 reasons I can think of:

1. Your case has bad airflow, or none at all. This leads to the fan blowing hot air on the card since all the heat stays in your case.
2. Your room is hot.
3. Your cards fan/heat sink is busted somehow

It sounds like a combination of 1 and 2. If your case has good airflow then your card is just busted.

Well..I have Antec 900 case with the fans running high...
ummm a xigmatek cpu cooler which should blow the heat form the gfx card to the top fan.

My room is actually really hot.

I don't think its the 3rd one because after I installed it a month ago,I haven't touched it.

Well if your room is really hot that could be the cuplrit. What are the temps with the fan at the normal levels? ( 35-40% )

It idles at 50-52 loads up to 81 then my temp warning comes on and then changes fan to 40 to 100 and brings it back down to 50 in a minute.

I think you might be creating a bad air flow pocket. This isnt the first time youve had heat troubles with that comp. I did that with an comp a while back and temps on all components went way up. Make sure your case fans are pointing the right way and alsothat they are clean from dust build up. Here's a pic showing correct air flow through a case. Also as a small help, remove a back panel plate from the case right next to the graphics card. This will allow more hot air out of the system.

Well the poiwer supply is on the bottom. And there is a vent on the side for a extra fan, but I can't fit one. Also my air flows seems to matches the diagram. Except the gfx the fan is on the bottom of the card.

Additional Comment:

Can it be dust?

Additional Comment:

Also the heat issue was the cpu because of the heatsink now it idles at 8C and loads at 25C

Well if the PSU is on the bottom it might be the cause for rapid heat build up in the card. Since the two are relatively close and heat rises, it would make the card a bit hotter than normal. I would definately remove a backplate next to the graphics card to help with getting hot air out of the case. As for dust I have seen temps change by 10-15 degrees off the norm in cards/cpu/systems in general from dust build up in fans and cooling fins.
