Assassins Creed maxes out at 60-70 fps no? So I don't think that's a very good game to test. That and my 3870 chews on it so the 4870x2's would be sitting there

I look forward to your results, and I hope we see some decent scaling. Not expecting much from Crysis since ATI just now finally fixed scaling for 2 cards. I expect the 3dmark scores to scale very well though.

Also, how long exactly are you going to have the 2nd 4870x2? I'm wondering since deep inside I think it's going to scale poorly so I'm guessing the next set of drivers will somewhat fix it.

Don't ask why unless you want to join them.
COD4
Crysis
World in Conflict
Gears of War (UT3 is NULL)
HL2 Episode 2
Oblivion
Stalker

Everything else is moot IMO. The above all at 16xAA would be fantastic.

Assassin's Creed has a framerate cap? Is that what you are saying?

I have two weeks tops with the card. That may be negotiable, I might have to see what I can do.

HL2 Ep2 significantly different enough from the Lost Coast bench?

Oblivion with Qarls texture pack.
Half Life 2 with Cinematic Mod. This one needs 64Bit to work.

I mostly want to see the difference between one and two 4870x2s, so we can find out if crossfire is even worth it, or if its still a dud.

Any chance of getting your hands on a 30" and doing the tests at 2560 x 1600?

I actually don't know what source titles support source engine benchmarks. I know of Lost Coast but otherwise I don't know. And I'm too lazy to reinstall HL2 with the Eps to check :P.

EDIT:
It looks like you can just create your own timedemo ether:
"Since Half-Life 2 features built-in testing tools, we used them in our test session and recorded a 60-second demo movie in real gaming situation any player would come across in Half-Life 2: Episode Two. BY playing the demo using “timedemo demo_name” console command we obtained the data about the average graphics accelerator performance."

I would record one in a demanding section of the game.

Lost Coast was a benchmark that came with Ep1 IIRC.

Also, if anyone has a good HL2 Ep2 save game, send it my way!

I think the section where you are underground with all the spiders was demanding on my 8800GTX. It has a lot of HDR pumping away. Anyone have a more demanding game area? If not then get ether that save!

Problem is, I have the game but have never played it, and I am not going to have much time to test so, playing a game to find a good save point is not an option

IF someone can get me a good save point though, it would be quite helpful!

Isn't there a command you can punch in the console to skip to any level you want? I think I remember hearing about it, and since it's single player there's bound to be a few cheats

EDIT: Found it http://www.g4tv.com/cheat/features/5..._2_Cheats.html
