The most affordable X48 motherboard – DFI LANParty DK X48-T2RSB Plus OC Review

According to the products launched in 2008, DFI produced P45 series as mainstream product, that are priced at USD $150~180;
for X48 chipsets, DFI produced both UT/LT/DK series to cover the price range from USD $ 200~310.

The superstar today is “DK X48-T2RSB Plus”, reversion from DK X48-T2RS.
There are some differences in the new version with USD $20 higher than before.


First of all, the style of color box is “Wing” in DK series with Laser mylar coating.


Accessories
It embedded with Auto Boost System (ABS) technology, and there is an ABS user manual inside the box.

After rose up the voltage in few stages, it’s stable in 557MHz SP2004.


According to the limitation of X48, DFI did a good job in Vcore control; it’s easy to OC up to 560Mhz with standard voltage.

ABS is a great software for overclocking. With four BIOS setting in CMOS, users can try different setting as they wish.

You can load setting from others or can make your own file!
For example, If you OC to 600MHz, you can save 600MHz, 580MHz, 560MHz, 540MHz in CMOS.
When other users load your setting, ABS will load the file from the lowest setting for safety.

Yes a very long time. His english has improved a lot though. I usually just checked his stuff out for pics not results.

The point of his threads are for pics and specs... not spectatular overclocks. He just shows its generally worthy. And last I heard, He bought most of his gear...

Yea because it is about promoting the product. He isn't going to go into really pushing a piece of hardware showing its limitations.

And I don't know who you heard that from, but I seriously doubt he buys nearly anything he shows off. It would cost him an arm and a leg if you remember all his reviews through the years.

Picked it up from NCIX. They had it from 265.99, and they price matched directcomputers for 247.99.

I just think that I may get a little more out of my CPU and CF with this board. I may even consider a NB block. I see there are taps in the stock NB cooler what size fan are they for. Looks bigger than a 40MM ??

I have yet to hear any serious draw backs to this board and for $ 219.00 for an x48 it is a steal and may drop even more once i7 is released

Yeah man, newegg is in panic mode so they dropped allot of prices recently. I have nothing to complain about the board so far. The one thing that took me a while to figure out was the Special VID ADD. If you have a cpu that is say 1.250VID, to get 1.4+v out of it, you need to raised the VID Control, then add a percentage. Have a calculator handy

example: 1.30VID x .09= 0.117 + 1.30VID = 1.417 vcore.

What I was initially doing with the board was adjusting the SPecial VID add to say 1.45v (for 4.7ghz) and it would not like it at all. I'd have to pull the cmos battery or jump it to get back into the bios. After I figured out adjusting both values with the simple formula, overclocking became a breeze.

I have read it and it is one of the deciding factors to maybe try this board. Sounds like the DFI BIOS is a little deeper than the Asus BIOS's I am used to. Definant learning curve I am sure. Hopefully I will be able to sell my P5Q-Pro so I can afford one.
