its hopefully a 4.xxghz Core i7 920 on water!
Can't wait! 26k CPU score is amazing!
I get about 14k with the QX6850 3.95ghz...
You'll better wait like 1 or 2 months, cause for now it is a bit pricey and the will maybe correct some errors on the chip like the always do when a new chip came out. But I know that it is hard to wait .

Yea, we'll see... if I can get a QX9650 for really cheap... I don't know though we'll see... I'm probably going core i7 soon. I'll check out lots of new on it before hand.

Voted "stick with current" but that's not entirely accurate. I plan to upgrade but likely to a e8400 just before or just after the holiday season.
This will equate to a complete upgrade for me and while i7 might be the "right" thing to upgrade to from my position, it will just be too cost prohibitive.

Happy with my E6600 Setup TBH..

I might go for a GPU upgrade next generation but otherwise my PC is solid enough for my current needs.

Everyone always claims to hold off upgrading, but 6 months from now, the poll of who actually owns an i7 will be totally different. We're overclockers - it's a disease!

No plans to upgrade to i7 (fer'real, yo) and I think I will actually end up holding out for some time.

...but if ASUS comes out with a mATX Crossfire board, who knows? I might just bite.

i7 is not that big of a tech increase from C2(D)(Q) series chips. I think I'll wait at least until 32nm reduction, if not later.

i'd love to, but it's hard to justify the cost of upgrading my cpu, mobo and mem. i'll be sticking with what i got until i see an E0 revision on the 920 or 940 that does 4+ ghz blindfolded.

My current setup is enough for what I do with my computer. Far Cry 2 works perfectly

Everything I play runs great with my current rig and this is the first one I've built that I can truly tweak. It would be a waste for me to upgrade because I haven't learned all I can from this setup.

I'm going to wait as long as I can. Until I either fatally roast this rig or get bored of it, but who knows how long that will take because of this da** forum and all of YOU I spend as much time tweaking as I do playing now!

I plan to upgrade right away I still have a dell with a pentium 4 which according to dell was shipped to me on 12/18/2002 so upgrading for me is a must now, I really never did heavy multitasking I mostly used my computer for c++ compiling but back in high school we used notepad IDE but now with the IDE's getting bigger and my computer cant handle them yet alone these big run time files they have now. So for my computers 6 year birthday I plan to bash it with a hammer and put it out of it's long 6 year life misery.

Why not 280's? Is it just the price?

Nope, not at all. The machine is going to be under LN2 in the spring and 3 260's are enough for what I'm doing with it.
