Love the case, love the layout of the hardware inside, but primarily I love the fact you have a Serenity background. RIP Firefly, best TV show ever made.

That is odd..., I must agree with you eclipseaudio. It really doesnt matter much though. I enjoyed building the case and I will build others...unfortunatly I might not post them here. Petty power breeds petty minds.

Thanks again. I am building my new case now, I just have to pick the right woods to use. I am thinking of solid cherry lumber with scrollwork and cherry veneered casework. There is a clockwork ala steampunk involved.

Personally I love cherry I think its the tones and great grains in it. If you put the monitor on top of this case and used a rotating base w/contacts for the ac in so that it could spin it would be an awesome display piece!!

It's Good to have hobbies my wife does not mind as long as the bills get paid and I dont devote all of my time to my projects. Guess I'm lucky.

We both are brother. My wife is very supportive of my lunacies

Well, I was thinking actually of a desk that wraps around both sides and front of me. The "instrument panels" would rise about a foot up from the countertops but 14" or so back on the two sides and about 20" back in the front. The LCD's would be integrated into the front "panel" and still be able to rotate.

I will post pictures of my current office area that might help illistrate what I mean. (properly thumbnailed of course )

Hmm, seems that my count is staying above 60 now but there I have posted well over 70 now...

Im wondering if you could do smaller one in terms of floor space. Maybe go rectangular. I may just have to try this now, hehe.

Your could but I think this one is perfect you can have your KB ,mouse, mon, speakers, everything and still not feel like you are out of room. That is the nice thing about making it yourself you can do anything you want.

is it hard to set up a three screen monitor system, obviously you would need at least two cards right?

Kakenname, I can make you anything you can afford PM me.

Eclips, my wife says the same thing...then yells at me if I do not clean up after myself....not a good time to toss "But honey, you said anything that makes me happy makes you happy?!" back at her! lol

Here are pics of my current office, you notice that it is almost like a StarTrek type console area. I was thinking of the "old school" star trek set.

I have not yet, but I thought really hard about doing so. I have a spare 21" (I used before my wife bought me twin 22"er's for xmas) but I set that up for her to plug into her laptop...no way will she give that up now!

My other obsession:

@roachnator yes It does take two cards not sure how you do it as I have only used two, which is quite easy as you just plug them into your card.

@Propnut I think I can see what you are talking about. that would be very cool and you already have the setup for it.
OT BTW what are those in the top left figurines? And what's the stuff in the bags below them?
Your setup is much nicer than mine for sure I need more room.

Very cool plane!!!
