Unless you are doing video or some other hugh continuous files, transfer rates are not the "all in all",
seek times and access times are far more important, so please track them as well. I understand that these don't get the e-pen*s as hard, but they are far more useful 95%+ of the time. Thank you, Dave |

Could i suggest that you add superlatives for scsi and IDE drives aswell as access time (no need for their own list just a tag at the end would be nice). I think it would be cool to see how they compare, and nobody wants to look like a fool when someone brings out a 4 scsi raid0
. Also the full drive name would be nice, as even different releases of the same drive will have different firmware and etc. It makes a difference and will help those looking to actully compare drives. Having 5 different WD 320 drives all with different benchmarks helps nobody. Ill be posting a few of mine in a moment, dont wait up. Last edited by Gargamel : 02-21-2009 at 10:25 PM. |

I just realized that I gave the wrong info. My drive is a 7200.11 and not a 7200.10. Sorry about that.
I changed it in my post above, but if you could change it in the original post that would be great. And thanks for putting this all together.
