Extra fans.
I have to have my sound card close to my GFX card. So was wondering if i should have 2x 120mm fans at the bottom blowing onto the 2 cards, or maybe 1. i could make some holes for the air to get sucked into the case ? What would you recomend ? ![]() I have 3 1 x 120mm fans at the front, 1 x 120mm at the rear, and 1 x 120mm at the top. and of course the cpu fans. Thanks alot ![]()

I'm wondering if you have enough exhaust to get that hot air out of the case? hmmmm..... Big gfx, big hs. I would try to get more air out and not worry so much about getting more air in. Too much negative pressure isnt so much a good thing.
Additional Comment: maybe one for the gfx and one more exhaust on top..... might work. its up to you. happy building Last edited by zasty : 03-15-2009 at 08:56 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

As long as you have more exhaust than intake, you are going to be fine. I would probably set both of those 120's on bottom to blow outward, and make the rear blow outward. Along with the 3 intakes in the front, you'd have a pretty cool running system.

Nice rig!
Bottom mounted fans are great, just make sure there are a couple of inches of clearance under the case & put some standard window screening over the bottom of the case to filter out the worst of will come. Also they have now pretty well proved that positive pressure (more in than out) is more effective at PC cooling than negative pressure, it also helps to keep the dust out, if you have good filters covering your air intakes. (Proof at AnandTech with video too!) Always Build with the Best! Dave Last edited by davidhammock200 : 03-15-2009 at 10:21 PM. |

I thought more out then in was better......how much would this affect my cooling and what if all that cool air goes in but is stoped by how much heat your gpu produces??(all that heat goes right to your cpu and other sorts and bam!) For all I know I don't know and thought trying to keep a consistent flow was the name of the game..

I'm getting this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...tid=209&subcat= not sure to have it as exhaust or blowing on the cards.
i have the rear and top as exhaust. P.s mine will have 3 at the front blowing air in. 1 at top blowing air out / 1 at rear blowing out. then that GPU cooler which i could have air blowing out or in ? so 6 fans negative to 2 fan positive ? all are 120mm fans. IMO blow air on the card and make yourself an opening in the bottom, screened of course.

Those botton intakes worry me. My Antec 900 case already fills up with dust and crap, I wonder if bottom intake makes that worse??
