I think that might be the 100v version though.. better check it out first. The size might present a problem but yes go with Iwaki if possible. Here's a good place to get Mags. http://www.aquatictech.com/pumps.html Get a cheap "new" Iwaki if possible.. if not then get a mag 3 or 7.

Get your t-stat, 12vdc psu, switches, power cord, panel mount fuse holder, fan connectors, psu to fan connector, splitloom, electrical lugs, wire, etc. I have a lot of this stuff too.. pm.

The average voltage in the US is around 122v.. I think you'd be asking for trouble.

The slightly higher voltage will cause the motor to run a bit hotter, but considering the application, and considering we have used some of those for multiple years, replacing em maybe every 2-3 years, it's not so bad. It's with the huge motors you have to worry, where 22% becomes alot.

Well , it's been a while for an update and I don't have much but here goes.

Bought six case fans. Scythe Kaze "Slip Streams" 1600 rpm and a Sunbeam Rheobus controller. Time permitting I will order the Mag 3 pump this week end and have it here close to the time when the real meat and potatoes parts are here.

Lest you think I have been doing nothing on this project for the last week , you are dead wrong. There has been a TON of private P.M.s and a lot of planning and fussing behind the scenes!!! Three steps forward two steps back and a lot of pain. Next week end should at least reveal a lot of new part pics and some good posting.

I do want to take time to thank all who have posted and some extra thanks to the BIGGEST poster on this thread. You know who you are !!!! Stick around , things are just gettin good

Nice choice on the fans you will get a fair amount of cfm and a very low noise level with those. My 1900rpm are very quiet considering there running 110cfm.

My Yate Loons in my computer are about the same cfm but db is in the mid 40s Man there loud. This time I got a speed controller and quieter fans but man there expensive .

They shouldn't be that bad £5-7 a fan usually, 1db different 34dba@110, i would have thought the'd come out a bit queiter than that but the fan controller will help you dial em to your own personal preference. Since were talking -'c temps whats the criteria for the performance of the fans?

6 of them out the door was $45.00. Yate Loons were $ 3.50 ea.

There will be 4 in the front pulling air through the conderser and two in rear to ventilate. Not sure if the 4 in front will be needed full blast all the time so this is the reason for the controller. The condenser is pretty big so proly not need them full blast but the power is there if I need it !! Never said I was going -c. Don't know were I'm going but since I'm not gobbing up my mother board dew point will dictate my set point.

MAN, fluck a duck I forgot to order fan grills when I ordered fans

$3.50 a fan pretty cheap got to admit, similiar spec prosumably. Makes me wonder why the switch to scythe kaze Jyuni cause with a fan controller 40dba could easily be chopped down?

Look at slip stream fan blade design. There's more blades and there "scooped". It's not just about cfm/s . The more important thing is pressure. More cfm does not alway's mean more pressure. Blade design . That's were it's at!!!

Additional Comment:

Ha!!! , Just got word that all the COOOOOOLLLLLL stuff I ordered will be here this Friday or Monday

Txv, HX, condenser, Fan shroud , run cap. Misc. fittings, and some brazing silver/ flux. Amongst some other "stuff"

Time for me to get off dead butt and order my share of the parts.

Thanks for the help "Mr. parts man". (You know who u are)

Can't wait to see it.
Still need parts? If you need something and can't find it throw me a message, you'd be surprised what we have in inventory, and we've started to liquidate alot of extra things (condensing units, oil separators, tons of spares)

Haha well; I personally like to see what you guys are doing around here. It's good to see what people can do with there hands instead of swiping a credit card.
I think my own system to show you guys might be on delay for a bit, work's picking up rather quick. We're finishing a prototype system, can't say much about it, but 2Kw @ -180C And we might have to start producing alot of them.

So mine's on hold; might as well help you guys.

I have a shot at getting the last two (only need one) bottles of -25 prestone deicer at local auto parts store. It's getting warm here quickly and will soon be gone

Question : my chiller res. has some sort of plastic (see earlier post photo's) lid and I'm concerned that deicer will "eat" it . Also, Zearex (spelling) has alcohol in it and that could be a prob. too.

Any thoughts??

You are planning on operating this above 0c right? If so then I would just use 70% Distilled water + 30% Zerex + a bottle or two of HydrX or PT_Nuke. This mixture will offer some freeze protection to around -20c for the plate hx if your pump fails. The top of that res should be fine. Make sure you seal it up good with some tape.
