Will be interested to see how your cooling upgrade goes, one of these days I'm going to have to bite the bullet and make the move to water cooling.

lmfao, you actually lost some money there.

- The kit already comes with a water additive. Unless you want something else other than the included green, just use distillated water and put the included HydrX.
- For the thermal paste remover. I use towels and isopropyl alcohol, between 70 and 99%. Never had a single problem.
- You can get the AM2 hold-on plate for free when buying the Apex kit by calling/e-mailing their tech support. Seriously, it's written on their site on the page for the kit (or in the .pdf manual). Just send an electronic version of your receipt/invoice and your address and wait ^^'

Other than that... nice buy, you won't be deceived by the kit

1. I wanted clear water so it's that much less hassle to clean out since I heard you get bits of coloured liquid.

2. I wanted to make sure everything was perfect so I bought the Cleaner

3. I'll need to email the support and get them to ship it from the US and I don't really have that patience to wait on 2 weeks for a piece of metal and screws so i thought I might aswell.

Additional Comment:

I also bought this fan to mount on top of the memory coolers.

http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...cat=882&page=1

I know I b**ched about silenx before but then I realised my fan started working a bit later on and is still working great so I'm getting one because it will keep to the silver theme of the memory modules , Imagine how cool the memory will be after this, maybe I can push 2.4v on it.

I would second the cleaner its a waste of money, alcohol is fine to clean with.

3. They have an RMA "station" located somewhere in Europe. Download the PDF manual for the Apex Ultima kit, it should be mentioned somewhere. Ill check thru my stuff and give you the e-mail if I can find it tho.

Then again I can't find no rubbing alcohol around my house so I thought I'll buy some anyway for future use.

It doesn't really matter £5, I have that lying around in my house somewhere never used.

Not sure. I used the included HdrX bottle + this much in the bottle. I would say around 1L... depending on the lenght of the tubing. one thing is sure, you shouldn't need all of it. (The bottle had 4L of water in there, and it was brand new)

Nice Be sure to take plenty of pics... and tighten those barbs! (my res leaked over time LOL)

Did you e-mail Swiftech's RMA support? Maybe you will be able to get a refund from them since you bought the backplate that was supposed to be free.

you can make some coolant with distlled water and anti freeze, come out a little blue but pretty clear. the antifreeze acts as a corrosion inhibitor

you have to

to start you wanna give the stuff a good clean through with some fresh water (distilled would be best), specialy the rad as it can have flux and all sorts still left in it. then you gonna want to let your CPU cool before you clean it - it makes things easier.

then its pretty much a case of making sure you know where everything goes and that it all fits where you want it. some people like to do a leak test before they instal but thats down to you and how much spare tubing you have.

personally i like to get everything but the tubing in place - keep the rad loose for the time being. this make it easier to get the length of tube you need to got between easier to find. i urge you to check and make sure everything is tight but so tight it damages things, the barbs and the hose clamps. once your happy tighten the rad fuill up the res and hit the power button.

you gonna need to keep fill the res to start of with so make sure its some easy to get to, and make sure you not gonna spill fluid on your system. all thats left to do i keep an eye on it and make sur your not getting nasties in the res and you should be
