I highly doubt that will happen, but you never know

He means take more market share. If he meant buy it he probably would have said "take over".

Asus 'MARs' GTX295 8GB SLI Runs Far Cry 2 2160p

8 GB of graphics RAM enough for you?
Have the need for speed? Check out the Asus Mars GTX 295, which its maker claims to be the fastest video card on the planet at the current moment. It set the world record in 3DMark with a score of X25057 just before Computex, and now it’s basking in all its glory at the show.
Asus had these running Far Cry 2 at the show at a mind (and monitor) blowing resolution of 3840 x 2160. Put two of them together for a quad-SLI setup with 8 GB of graphics memory.

Wow....both of these are a big slap in the face to EVGA. I hope they have a good counter. Just after they released the 2GB (more than enough) 285's.

Well if the ASUS are limited to 1000 units then I don't think EVGA will have any thing to worry about. Not only that but who can afford one of those in the first place. Oh that's right mommy and Daddy are gonna be paying for them.

Who could afford a $550 295 when they first came out? Apparently everyone because they were flying off the shelves. EVGA is probably STILL dishing out step-ups from when they were first released. I remember when I CANCELED my step-up there was some 400 people in line.

If these sell well, I dont see why they would not produce more...it happens all the time with LM.

Well that just blows, I would think if they market a product as a limited quantity to make buyers feel special then they could have legal problems if they renig and produce more then the original quoted quantity, but then again all they would have to do is change the name a little like Mars II or Mars closer to earth card LOL. Ah what am I saying, I don't even know the first thing about all this. I sure can put on a good poker text though. ha ha

Yes, 400 people in line. With 1,000 these things will easily sell out.

Note that they played FarCry 2 at those insane settings. Even this card can't run Crysis at max!

Will any thing ever be able to run crysis at max? Maybe there is some bad coding or some coding secretly implemented into the crysis code to make you feel inadiquate so that you will always want to upgrade to see if you can get it to run even better. I don't see the point in that though, once you finish the game it's like ok what can I play now...

You are looking into it way to much.

If you hate Tom's for saying that, hate a lot of vendors as that is how its listed. They dont make a mention on how its used. How its written is correct, you believe they are implying its use is shared which was not mentioned and therefore cannot be extrapolated.

Hate Tom's for real reasons like their power measurement techniques using a friggin KillaWatt

What's wrong w/using a KillaWatt, I bought one of those and have still to try it out extensively. Heck I have to find it again before I can use it... Would that come in handy for determining the different wattage a cpu uses.

Example: a x2 5400+ BE uses like 89 or 90watts & a x4 940 BE uses 125watts. So the question is would I be able to see the difference on the KillaWatt meter when using both chips in the same machine.

It will give you a general idea, but the more power it uses, the more its off. Active PFC on today's PSU's really tend to throw them off is what I heard. They are ok for us, but for review sites, deplorable.

They are not accurate and should not be used by review sites.

Oh I see, heresayers and Naysayers don't like the KillaWatt for accurate readings. I just bought mine to show my Girlfriend that the 40" LCD uses more watts then she thought it did. I compared it to the refrigerator...
