Rise from the dead young 7950! :(

Hey everybody,

First off, I hope all is well with everyone and their families. Down to the point, I have a beautiful EVGA 7950 GT KO that has been long and gone for almost a year. When it first said it's goodbyes, the problem was their was no video. Everything powers on, the heatsink fan is powered and running, and the card seems physically sound...other than of coarse for the small display issue.

I decided to stick it in my quad core today just for the sake of seeing if maybe a lightning stirke of mercy hit it. But my efforts we of no avail.

I would like to investigate the matter a bit further and see if I can bring it back to life. If anyone one else any thoughts, please step forward.

My first plan of action is to try and flash the bios. I figured trying to do so with the stock, most up-to-date, bios first would be the best idea so that all of the default settings will load. After that and if I'm lucky enough to bring it back, I'd like to try some custom bios as well. When I googled for the specfic bios I needed, and others in general, I wasn't able to come up with anything.

Does anyone know where to find the bios I need, or just a place that offers graphic card bios in general? TIA and if this was too long, let me know and I'll paraphrase next time haha.

What display issues are you having? I have a 7900gt and I was getting artifacts and there was nothing I could do about it.

Plastic melts around 300F

If I were to do that method I'd use a heat gun.

not for nothing but wouldn't the word "Young" and the series "7950" be an oxy-moron when used together
