I borked something, possibly mobo?

I had my 939 system off for a few days and I got a new cpu in the mail to try out so I was going to install it. I forgot I had switched GPU's during that time and I never uninstalled reinstalled drivers. I tried to boot up the system to reset the bios before installing the new cpu, then booted it into windows and it had a problem and system recovered from a serious error relating to the graphics adapter which I reported. I shut the system down and now it won't post at all, no beeps. Just powers up and everything runs, fans leds, but no post beep and no video output. I think I caused this by neglecting to properly address the GPU swap. Possible?

I was hoping to get something so I can get into the bios and boot from a windows cd and start from scratch but I gots nothin'.

Additional Comment:

I should also mention that after they system booted up and have vid driver issues with the new gpu, I put the old one back in and put in the new cpu and the system won't even power up. When I put my other cpus in it powers up, just won't post any more. I feel the new cpu i recieved is DOA, could this have harmed something if I tried to fire it up with a bad cpu?

have you tryed putting all the old hardware back in and doing a cmos reset?? if that takes care of it then deal with the driver issue and try the upgrade again.

I know that driver **** isnt true. Iv always swapped video cards without uninstalling drivers and its always worked fine. Sounds like power supply and mobo, check connections ?

I've swapped between my 3870 and x1900xt before with no trouble. It's got to be something else. The psu is almost brand new and has been working great, I'm going to take everything apart and reseat all the connections, even take out the mobo for inspection tonight. I will see where I'm at then. I have a A8N SLI Premium that showed up in the mail today too. It will be hard for me to not just throw that one in there.

I would automatically go this route. It's a much better board.

Got the A8N going with my original 3800 that clocks @ 2.74. It won't recognize the opty 165 or the other 3800 x2. I'm wondering if the asrock went and took both of those with it. I dried both of those cpus in that board when I was having problems.

This Asus board is nice looking. Now I need to get the usb drivers and such, also giving me bios checksum errors.

Additional Comment:

This thing came with every accessory I swear, everything but the driver disc that is.

Made a nice little driver update CD. Does the mod bios have higher vcore settings?

This is the nicest board I've owned. The 4G OCZ plats are running fine too.

Additional Comment:

I'm still ****ed that board burned up 2 of my cpu's. It's probably my fault though, I was just trying to eliminate variables.
