SOLVED: Bad USB controller

I think the usb controller ic on my mobo is shotty. the rest of the chipsets functions seem to work properly but usb will cause windows to lock up. *have not tested on another OS*. will a usb card to the pci express slot replace the chip and or "take it out of the loop" so that i can use usb without locking up my system that causes me to use the reset button to fix . its a socket 939 nvida chipset out of warrenty

Additional Comment:

No one like to talk russian...

Additional Comment:

Did you check the manufacture's site for updated firmware or drivers?

Its all up to date.... this has been an on going problem the printer one day started to lock up winxp.. no response from anything. then now whenever i use the usb (ps2 knockoff) controller it locks the game like a loop that it cant recover from.. just dead and screen is frozen on the last image it was displaying. has to be powered down with switch. im just really looking for answer to question will a pci or pciexpress usb card work to remove the posible bad mobo components (that i blame for the problem) from the "loop" (for lack of a better term) so i can use usb drives and other things *funny though if i download photos off of my camera it never seems to crash only when uploading large data (+10mb) will it lock up the more i upload to a device the greater the chance it will lock the system-- although this usb game controller problem is something relatively new (makes me think the age of the mobo is starting to show a bit) what ever is damaged or non functional on the usb control is getting worse(might be a power control modual..

Whenever you add a PCI/PCIe card that has USB2.0 ports on it, the OS will simply add it to the rest of the system. It will not interfere with the other USB controlers on the motherboard, so there shouldnt be a problem.

well funny but the usb keyboard i use (wireless) does not crash the system.. at least i have not been able to do so i think it is a voltage problem with the ic control chip mostlikly. as the moduls that control power etc age they are more and more out of spec for the stability it needs.. oh well i get one ordered..

Additional Comment:

I just got a startech 4 port usb2.0 pciexpress card. was about 40.00 but now everything that i had done before that used to lock up the computer and or crash the system does NOT!!.. i was able to successfully surf the web and download files from a usb 2gb drive and then rewrite the data back to the same drive.. NEVER EVER EVER WOULD work before!!
