Like i said, only hypothetical numbers, just wondering if its more impressive to have less cores at a higher clock, or more cores at a slightly lower clock, I guess I'll probably end up throwing both up here, but in the non-hypothetical world I still haven't treaded past 4.35ghz lol.

EDIT:

Just played around, I can attest to the fact that this overclock was SO STABLE, that it actually crashed trying to open the page in opera. Glad I popped my e-mail in lol.

Got my rig up and running again with a new motherboard. Here's the baseline OC, to be tweaked later...

Would probably have to upgrade your board to improve . Pretty good as is. Just work on trying to lower the vcore whilst maintaining the core speed.

My entry. Bit late in the day I know. I've been stuggling to get to 4.1, will do it fine with just 4 cores .

Verification in sig.

*edit*

RAM is in single channel cos some dodgy RAM blew an IMC. Maybe I could do a lot better when the new 1090T arrives?

Update - 4.2ghz running stable 24/7.
Edit: I have dropped the HT multiplier so the frequency is 2400mhz. There seems to be a decrease in performance past this point.

I've found that there really isn't any performance increase from upping the HT link at all. I just keep it at 2000.

Yeah, I've dropped HT back down to 2100mhz. Managed to keep 4.2ghz stable with 1.475v instead of 1.5v, so quite happy.

Finally got 4.7ghz validated. Had a bit of trouble getting rid of that x, but a bump in voltage worked out. 4.7ghz @ 1.65v liquid cooled no chilling.

Thanks! Currently testing for 4.4 - 4.5ghz stable. I'll be running it as a dual core first. It's pretty darn solid at 4.4ghz so far. Passes Pi 32m and WPrime 1024m all day. Tonight I'll run a P95 burn in and see how well that goes. Bump the mhz for a few days and in between run P95 and see where it starts errors. I ran P95 for a couple hours the other night without issues at 4.4ghz, I anticipate all night not being a problem.

Vcore @ 4.4ghz is only 1.55v. 1.6v @ 4.5-4.6ghz benchable and 1.65v+ for the 4.7ghz submission. That'll last as long as I don't do anything beyond web browsing. Any more than 4725mhz it's the typical blue screens.

This was a new chip off the Egg for those wondering. I've had good luck with cpu's from them in the past too.
