Depend on the models. You might be able to use CF/SLI without a bridge on lower-end cards.

Yah, the card probably has the sli finger on the PCB, but no sli bridge in the box. Same case as with my 9600GT.

I can't load up the galaxy site, so cant check.

It doesnt seem like the card has a SLI connector, but it might still be possible to do SLI without a bridge. Youd have to try it yourself on a SLI-compatible motherboard tho.

Additional Comment:

A quick Google search revealed that yes, SLI is possible without a bridge. However there is a performance hit, since you lose 1GB/S of data on both PCI-E connectors, because the cards needs to talk to each other.

Rest assured, if you use two 9600 GT Low-profile together you should be fine, as long as your motherboard has two PCI-E connectors that works at at least 8x.

Just grab a SLI-compatible 775 motherboard with a more recent chipset, between P35, X38, P45 and X48.

Hell I dont even know if they make any SLI-compatible boards between these chipsets, you might need to go for an nVidia 750i or 780i chipset.

it's probably just SLI without a bridge.

As for nVidia chipsets, I recommend the eVGA 750i SLI FTW and the 780i SLI, or the 780i SLI FTW. I think XFX also makes nVidia-based boards, but not sure how they fares versus eVGA's boards.

Just plug the two video cards, boot into Windows, enable SLI after installing the latest nVidia drivers. Done.

All the boards I have listed are ATX.

do u think it can fit in the dell vostros 220S?

dimensions are:
Weight & Dimensions:
Height: 13.95" (354mm)
Width: 3.94" (100mm)
Depth: 16.3" (415mm)
Weight: 17.6lbs (7.98 kg)

i'll measure it myself too

how is teh perfomance of the 780i SLI chipset compared to the P45 intel chipset?

i'll have a look at prices around!

Additional Comment:

has evga discontinued the 780i SLI FTW?? cause i cant see it anywhere.......all they have now are the P55 mobos =(

they dont made them in MicroAtx Form and no you can't put an ATX Mobo inside a micro ATX Case.
that was the bad news , the good news is that there is a hack that allow you run SLI on any mother board capable of supporting two video card .
but I don't now if the hack work without any SLI Bridge or not.
on other hands there are ton's of microATX Mobo that support CrossFire.

And I still Believe you need to convince your parent to let you buy a new case, right now you changed pretty much everything expect the box itself.

1. You CAN do SLI without a bridge.

2. You NEED a SLI-compatible motherboard.

3. You will need a new case for this. You cant put a new motherboard for SLI in your current case.

No, the case is probably way too small.

So you can change all your hardware and can't get a new case? I mean you can get $20 cases to house what you need.
