I don't game in the warm seasons so my personal setup is incredibly simple right now. I'll get a pic of the shop later when it's a little cleaned up. Your setups kind of motivated me to go back to using the nice desk that I currently use for work.

Indeed Just haven't been used in a while. Used to do all my school work on them back when I had lots of equations to run through.

As for the dishes, I just had dinner before I took that picture. Cut me some slack eh? Best part of bachelor life is nobody telling you to eat at the dinner table.

Ok. I'll explain since you keep bringing this up. I bought a $1200 HP DV9000 a couple years ago. First, the media touch controls stopped working. HP said "it's software, not hardware" so they wouldn't fix it. I even restored to factory image and it still didn't work. Their customer service is TERRIBAD. Then the left hinge broke when I opened it one day. Keep in mind, my laptop spent most of its life on my nightstand and that was maybe the 10th time I had ever opened it. Crack. Terrible design. I called and they said it would only break from abuse and they don't cover that with warranty. Strike two. I continued to use it with a broken hinge for another few months. Then I started to get lockups. Clean thermal system, fresh image, and it still locked up. It was annoying and finally the motherboard went out. Did they replace it? Of course not. Lately I've read about class action lawsuits because of the DV6000 and 9000 series. So, in under a year, my $1200 laptop turned into a dead paperweight. I parted it out. I have a few buddies with macbook pros. The build quality is insane. The lowest macbook pro, the 13.3", is $1200. Same price I paid for my HP DV9000. I bought it. I don't regret it either. The craftsmanship is off the charts. I'm impressed. I use it for surfing the web, chatting on aim/yahoo/msn, and office stuff. I even have windows 7 ultimate x64 on there but I never use it.

So... I didn't buy it for audio/video editing. I bought it because the hardware quality is great. No breaking hinges. No breaking anything. I've only heard good things about apple's warranty and customer support so I'm happy with my choice.

Oh, and I'm not a mac guy either. I have a liquid cooled gaming rig, and two servers. One with windows server 2003, and the other being penguin oriented

Whoa, i had to loo kat it twice to make sure that's what you use. I'm so used to people going eyefinity on here i wasn't expecting a setup of that sort. Nothing wrong with it, just made me look twice is all.
