Making the monitor go into standby

Ustream seem to have made it so that when you're watching videos your monitor won't go to standby. Is there any way to go around this via ustream or, alternatively, is there some way to force your monitor to go into standby, some kinda command you can type into command prompt or smth?

Ustream doing the logical thing, last thing you want to happen, is to have your monitor going into sleep mode, you could turn the monitor off, does this program have settings, you need to post more information.

I don't think it does. That's why I think the best solution would be some kind of a command that would just make the monitor go to standby when run.

I'd probably agree with you, the command should be more flexible, when I say logically, I mean logical to Ustream, it also seemed logical to me, depends how your using the software.

I think there's a brain command you can send to your finger to poke the power button.

He's probably multitasking and doesn't want to turn off the monitor. I'd be looking for better software, that's if there's any available.
