Weird Folding results? Stats way too high!

Hey everyone,

I was just checking my stats today, and I know I don't fold for the EOC Team, but I figured this would be the place to issue my concern:

Which I recently saw a small increase in my folding scores due to me now using the SMP client, yesterday and today have been off the charts without reason:

http://folding.extremeoverclocking.c...hp?s=&u=110406

I know most of the SMP WUs I am completing are worth 481 or 921 points. These score numbers don't seem to make sense in relation to that. Any idea what is going on here?

Thanks,

- Don Komarechka

those points are right. If you have been folding with your passkey, you are getting bonus points! welcome to the fold!

Really? The passkey is giving me THAT MANY bonus points? I feel a little dirty, like I'm cheating :P

once you fold 10 units with the passkey, you get bonus points!

The linux SMP bigadv client (now extinct), was netting people 40k to 90k work units based on how fast they were returned. don't feel dirty....

The bonus is based on time left till dead line.

So faster you get them done, the more points you get.

What cpu do you have? That'll tell the most if things are messed, plus i'm nosey.

run....... windows big advac are still popin that outy.

I'm running a Core i7 930, modestly clocked from 2.8ghz to 2.93ghz, a very basic setup compared to what many of you are running - still enough to make me happy. Been folding for the better part of 8 years. I remember overclocking Pentium Pro 200MB dual-core machines to 233mhz so that they would just squeak in under the deadlines! Good times.

I likely could, however I use this machine for mission-critical work, so I don't want to push the envelope too much. Probably building a dedicated rig for folding soon, money permitting

my rig is being used too much to take advantage of the bigadv...

to OP, i agree with the mission critcal tasks... my rig runs a few VM's and is my main work machine during the day. i can fold the normal SMP units, but bigadv is out of the question when 1 cpu is almost always being used by something else and im getting around 1.5 hours / frame...

Yha, an i7 bigadvac machine needs to be fairly dedicated to be useful.

Else you should just run smp 6 or 7.
