Question HP Compaq 8000 + GTX 460 + FSP Booster GPU = Alright? ASAP Order Pending

Alright so a professor I had when I went to school has upgraded his GPU and he also bought a 650W PSU to go with the GTX 460. However when he took his rig apart he noticed that the mobo didn't have a 20+4 pin or anything but all HP crap so could he pickup one of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104054 for the 460 and then leave the stock 350W PSU in the rig for the rest of the computer like it was before? The 460 won't pull to much from the slot itself, will it?

The magic orb spat out a link.

http://www.************/s/HP-8000-De...92ci453/t/1-2/

Is this accurate? Looks like the graphic card won't even fit, let alone trying to fit in the secondary PSU in.

But yes, without knowing anything, it should work, as the 460 pulls most of the power through the 6pins.

Additional Comment:

Oh wow, link doesn't work.

Lemme find a different link.

I am not sure, IIRC the slot is up to 75W....
The FSP Drive bay PS's work well, a little pricey, I used one for over a year when I first xfired my 4850s...it was a 350w IIRC..

The FSP Booster should work, even if the card is a big power sucker, it can only drain ~75W from the slot or so, the stock PSU should be able to handle that.

Should have one near the hard drives or CD bays, unless he used them all. =/

In which case a Y-splitter molex should do the job.
