Crossfire Issue!

So, I've run into a small problem of my own making. I had thought I checked this, but ....

I have 2x6970 graphics cards, with two EK waterblocks and the EK DUAL bridge system. I am trying to replace my current card on my E757 EVGA SLI LE motherboard. Unfortunately, this places the second card over a PCI [not PCIx] slot on my motherboard.

They sell a longer bridge - 3 slots - which puts the second graphics card over a PCIex4 slot in my motherboard.

There is a PCIex8 slot closer to the first slot, above the PCI card. That is the only PCIexpress slot that is close enough to the first card so that the crossfire bridge that came with the graphics cards will fit.

Thats what I'm looking at, basically. Any help would be appreciated, since I'm currently stuck with no computer at home!

Hi Z-Comp,

I don't know the answer but here is a pretty good discussion on the EVGA mobo forums. Keep reading as they talk about fit at the bottom of the thread. Hope that helps.

If you need the computer working then ditch the EK DUAL for now. Pop in some micro or mini barbs and just tube carefully. You can always re-tool your loop later after you've had time to search for a better solution.
