Q9400 Overclock
I overclocked my Core 2 Quad Q9400 (2.66 GHz) to 3.2 GHz. I didn't want to go any higher, because the memory is only PC2 800, and I didn't want to go over 800. However, I think this CPU will accept a much higher clock. So my question is, what is the best way to up the CPU clock without raising the memory too high? I have an Asus P5q-e motherboard. The Asus BIOS does not have a direct FSB RAM setting, but it does have FSB strap to northbridge setting.Should I raise the CPU voltage, or what is the best way to do this? Thanks in advance. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Again, my settings may not be optimal. I am definitely not an expert on overclocking. Any tips would be great! Additional Comment: Nobody has any ideas or tips for me? Last edited by Caldrumr : 06-07-2011 at 02:12 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |
