Can I use a AC Adapter that rated at 19v 3.5a on a Netbook that requires 19v 2.15a

I have a Gateway that died, thinking it was the AC adapter, I bought a new one (generic). I have a Netbook, a gateway Nav50, it requires 19v at 2.15amps. If I plug in the generic AC adapter I bought for the dead laptop (19v 3.5amps), would that burn it out or will the Nav50 netbook only take what it needs which is 19v 2.15amps or will the AC adapter give out the full 19v 3.5amps and fry my Netbook?

It will work just fine. 19V is the size of the pipe, the amperage is just how much juice is flowing down it. It'll only take what it needs.

This.

Assuming the outlet and plug are compatible you should be fine.
