AMD mentioned that it will be shipping Zambezi processors before the end of September and is "tracking to an expected Q4 launch and availability for those parts".

Agreed. I'm hoping it matches or exceeds the 2600k and i'll be satisfied. I'm pretty disappointed with the delays but thats the upgrade path i'm set up for at the moment. So i'll be buying unless it's an utter fail.

if it doesn't exceed the 2600k and they price it at $300+ I think they will be in trouble. If it were a $200 cpu, I think they would be able to get away with a little less performance.

Yeah thing is AMD's contest had the pricing at 300$ for the FX-8150 which is at 3.6Ghz i believe. Rumored has it prices are now at 259$ yet it is only a rumor but with the latest delay pushing it back to Q4 for Zambezi you have to wonder if it's more than just yields holding them back... and not only that the refresh (8170) is rumored in Q1 of 2012 and supposed to be a gain in IPC and clocks. It would be epic for Bulldozer to exceed Sandy bridge in clock for clock performance.

If it does match or exceed the 2600k, which i am expecting it to, i would imagine it would handily beat the 2600k in multithread performance theoretically speaking though. I'm tired of waiting
