I saw some YouTube video of Crysis 2 running on the i5-2500 using the Intel HD3000 graphics. It did not look that bad, but it also might have been fake.

it'd be interesting to see just what kind of FPS you get with the onboard GPU, since Intel's been hyping it up. Good luck!

It was claimed 25-35fps, but again, dunno if it's credible.

Yea idk. I got mine up to 4.6GHz as well. However, I never use onboard graphics either. I'm quite happy with my 570gtx

My i7-2600k got 5492 3dmarks in 3dmark06 on the integrated graphics 3000
http://3dmark.com/3dm06/16401904

I've played Crysis on computers with lower numbers than that.

Nice rig! Take your time, have some patience (which it sounds like you do), and save for the components you want! Good luck, Sir.

is your voltage on auto or something? That just seems like a lot for 4.6. It may just be luck of the draw with your chip though.

That voltage should be under 1.4v. Bot into you bios, and set it to 1.375, and see if your stable, if not bump it up incrementally. Nice rig, though.

I love when people make blind, declarative statements. Says who? Certainly not Intel. This is why I questioned him instead of ordering.

As for the set it to 1.375 and see if it works, I agree, then adjust up or down depending on what it takes for stability.

But for all we know he got a dud of a chip and the 1.45 was what it took. I'm going to assume its left on auto, and if that Corsair is keeping his chip cool enough he probably had plenty of headroom left to overclock, but he needs to answer the questions before we work on that.

You're right. It all depends. Looking at the vid, I did see the voltage fluctuate.

When you start running past 4.5 or 4.6, data corruption can be a problem. I run sfc/scannow every so often to fix some corruption. It helps. But first lets get his voltage stable.

So would be possible on an i7 version? Isn't an i7 just an i5 with hypertreading enabled?
