Got in tonight at around 8:30PM local time, and had no queues. Played until about 15 minutes ago.

Still liking it. And I don't even have any friends on!

Alright, I'm debating buying this but I need a push to actually do it.

Should I get this game or what?

If you love Star Wars, and what Bioware does with the franchise then get it.

If you are not crazy about their games, but still like them, then give it time to have the bugs ironed out and some balancing done.

First official patch came out today and addressed quite a few bugs.

Anyone hit end game yet? We had 9 dudes from our Rift guild hit 50 last week in SWTOR and they said there isn't anything to do really. I can't tell if they are just talking it up or if they are serious, anyone confirm?

I'm not too concerned about end game content as I don't race to level 50. Based on the amount of time I actually spend gaming, it would probably take me a couple months to hit 50.

I do love Star Wars and I enjoy Bioware with the exception of Dragon Age 2, which was horrible in every way.

I hear SWTOR is an MMO that plays more like a singleplayer game and I'm okay with that. I rather like the idea of having a storyline to follow through the game.

I just don't have anything to really play until March so I'm trying to find something to occupy some of my free time.

Should be a good time sink for you then. Game is great so far IMO, story is good and an MMO with fully voiced NPCs is a very good thing IMO. New patch addressed a few niggling bugs, one of them a companion that I just started to use wouldn't gain affection normally, and also they addressed an issue with "mining" in the world (they call it archaeology).

I like the fact that you don't absolutely have to group up with anyone in order to advance the story. Some side quests require grouping but that's OK.

I just got my ship and got to Ord Mantell with my Jedi. Will probably be going back to Coruscant to finish up the Heroics (dungeons) and move on.

Well, does anyone know where I can pick the game up at a discount? I feel like $60 is steep for a game that has a monthly fee.

I haven't seen it on sale anywhere. It's worth the $60 entry fee though. It's one of the better MMO's I've played. I really dig the story and the voice acting.

I level slow too. Took me all day (8am to 10pm) with breaks to hit L12. But I explored and did every single quest i could find. After a couple days of playing I'm now L17 with my BH Merc.

I can't decide if I want to be a Sith or Jedi.

I naturally gravitate towards good so I'm thinking Jedi at this point.

It kind of worries me people are hitting the end game so fast. Every MMO has a ton of people race to whatever the max level is, but I keep hearing this is like a single player RPG, and when you're at the end there isn't much to do.

EDIT

Oh, and I heard if you are one who likes to do lots of quests before venturing further, you out-level future content.

Any confirmations or disagreements on the above?

Additional Comment:

Oh, and I understand an MMO isn't about graphics, but I'm really looking forward to a developer one day pushing the current system envelope and making a great looking game (like EQ2 when it came out, that was just beautiful). A game with a wide spectrum of graphics so low-end systems can play smoothly as well as higher end systems can use that hardware we all paid so dearly for. Every MMO I have tried lately has been a disappointment in this area.

There are good looking MMOs. They just happen to suck.

I'm not being sarcastic, but name one. I am genuinely interested to find out. Last one that was hyped was Rift, but the graphics and gameplay disappointed in that one.

The biggest thing that holds us back isn't our tech, but yours we need to build them to play on extremely old systems and while some MMO's do look alright it's tough to get it to play on 30FPS on a single core 1.6Ghz CPU and a GPU thats the equiv of a MX400 and also take advantage of an 8 core CPU @ 4Ghz and a couple beasts in SLi....it's a very VERY hard combination. We are currently developing End of Nations, the RTS MMO and since the main market is Asia we have to shoot to have the best performance on a single core AMD machine with 128MB of video memory since that is the average system in our market, there's a lot more to it than a dev just not going to the hilt because they don't feel like it

That being said, the gamer in me totally agrees with you

Aion is a pretty good looking game that is out. It's not good, but it's pretty.

TERA isn't out yet, but that looks nice as well.
