Ram set up what are your thoughts.

Okay this is my set up.
M/B, Gigabyte, GA-Z68X-UD3R-B3
Ram, Kingston Hyper x 1600 2 pairs at 4GB a pair = 8Gb.
CPU, Intel i7 2600.
OS.Win7 64bit HP.
PSU. Corsair TX650
This is my question; the timings & voltage settings I have listed below are they okay & can they be improved or should I use a different configuration.

Also I have been told that I should use 2 & not 4 ram sticks for stability although I haven't had any problems yet.

So here is my list;

CPU Clock Ratio = 16x.
XMP =Profile.
Performance enhance = standard.
CPU Vcore = 1.340v (auto).
QPI/VTT = 1.050 set at 1.225v (Man).
Sys Agent .920v (auto).
CPU PLL 1.800v. set at 1.830v. (Man).
Dram Volt 1.5. Set at 1.700v.
All else auto.
BCLK 99.80MHz.
Mem Freq, =1596.70.
Timings = Channel's A+B = 8.8.8.22.5.24.98.1.
Isochronous = Enabled
Virtual = disabled.

If you need any more info let me know.

Thanks.
Trekkie.

Can you run that at less volts?

If you can go down a notch or two and still be stable, that would be the only change I would make

If not then change to 9.9.9.24 and then lower the volts

tbo as long as the volts are not to high and its stable theen its ok, imho you do need to drop to 1.6 or 1.55 if possible

since the BCLK is essentially locked on 1155, its going to be hard to fine tune the ram freq.

Have tried dropping the volts but my system freezes up. (1.6v).
Seems to be okay at this setting.
Mostly worried about using up all four slots as am told can cause problems later on & that using 2 is far more stable & safer.

Can you confirm?

Thanks.

Trekkie.

unless you are trying to break some world overclocking record, using all your ram spots shouldn't be an issue.
