Please help me pick between these 2

So I want RELIABLE. Thought I got that with my Enermax Revolution 85+ but I apperantly am wrong. Anyway, long story short I am about to buy a new supply for my main rig. Details in sig, want to be able to support potential for multiple high end graphics card and plenty of head room.

These are the two supplies I am looking at. Opinions? Both reviewed very well, may even be same internals. May take other suggestions as well, but please explain why if you do.

its nice, but more expensive, dont know if it is worth the cost increase. Not much of an increase, but am I getting anything more is the question? Thats why I asked to explain why. If $15 is getting me a more reliable supply i will consider it. If its just because you like corsair.... why?

Personally I'd go with a Silverstone Strider Gold 1200

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817256069

or for a few bucks more do it right with the 1500, one of the top PSU's on the market today

Before tax but including shipping, the Seasonic is roughly $282 and the XFX is $275. The Corsair with the same parameters is $286, BUT it does have a $20 MIR bringing it down to $266 total, so it's actually cheaper than the other two.

I linked that particular unit because IMO for that wattage range it's probably the best power supply out there right now. The build quality is amazing and (I could be mistaken here) I think it's actually JG's highest ratest PSU. Read the JG review, pretty impressive to say the least.

yeah, i was just digging through the review, it does indeed look very nice and I think just bumped the other two off the list.

Additional Comment:

hmmm, on second look that Corsair has about 10% of its reviews as being unit fails quick or makes a lot of noise. Even if the odds are with me, I dont want to roll the dice.

After digging some more the XFX is based on the Seasonic unit. Between the two of them zero DOA or RMA reported a of yet. not that many reviews though. Still in the air.

Additional Comment:

I think unless someone comes up with a good reason to steer me away, I'm going with the seasonic unit.

Agreed.

Also, I would look at a combination of performance and customer service. My experience with customer service at Corsair has been nothing short of stellar. I had a first run HX620W that didn't come with 8-pin PCI-E power cables. When I emailed them asking how to get a set of them for my unit they simply asked me for my mailing address. No other info, they didn't even ask for me to prove I owned a unit. 3 days later I had 2brand new 8-pin plugs...

DF, the two units you linked are the exact same PSU internally. Buy the cheaper one or the longer warranty. No disappointment with either unit.

Seems reasonable. All of the top brands built their reputation by selling Seasonic units. Seasonic has probably been the most consistent manufacturer of tightly spec'd and reliable power supplies since the ATX v2.xx was established.

i wouldnt go so far as to say there worthless, but i do tkae them with a grain of salt and actualy read the review.

For example the switch I just bought had a few 1 egg reviews because they were not stackable like the old series... Seriously, do you not even look at the product before you buy it, somehow that is the products fault...

Now when I see 10% of something is dieing within 2 months, that is alarming to me. I take a look and try to figure out who doesnt know what there doing, or if some of the posts stand out as the customer clearly messed something up, but aside from that, if 10% just die with a loud pop while the system is just sitting there, there might be an issue with the new design.

The only difference between the regular XFX and the XFX Black Edition is the color. The units are identical.

so from what I have figured out, Seasonic built the XFX supplies, many of the well known supplies through the years (including corsair correct?) and recently corsair changed there manufacturers. There new supply is nice, tests VERY good, however I have seen more reports then I would like to see about this model blowing caps early. Even if there customer service is amazing, I dont want to deal with that.
