GTX 680 availability

ALL BRICK AND MORTAR STORES:

Tigerdirect MSI $530
- Naperville, IL

______________________________^^^^^available in stock above, but double check^^^^^___________________________________

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Slizzo suggested this awesome site: http://www.nowinstock.net/computers/...nvidia/gtx680/

Click links below to quick search said site:

Frys Watch out, some stores list older cards when you check GTX680, Frys has the GTX 580 at the top of the list. (I added 2gb to search to fix this here)

Newegg has been listing cards around 4pm-6pm cst

Bottom Line Telecomunicationsthis site will give you an idea of how long it will be before new orders are available

Tiger Direct (If it says "ships in X-Y days," this means THEY will get it in X-Y days.... IE preorder)

Best Buy

I am updating this as best I can, if you see I list one in stock, double check before buying as I may not have had a chance to update yet. (Don't accidently preorder if you didn't mean to)

Those shouldn't actually be in stock. When I called them Monday with a similar
(should SHIP in 3-5 days) they told me they didn't have them and they were preorder.

It's vapor ware. I find it funny they felt the need to prematurely push it out the door when they knew they didn't have any stock to sell. Would have been better if they simply removed the NDA and gave us a real release date instead of pretending it was in stock just to try and stem the shift of consumers over to AMD.

Two things, they seemed to have plenty of stock in Europe since a lot of those guys have them already.

Second, you haven't been around for very long have you? It's called a paper launch and it's something that nvidia and ATI have been doing forever.

I called PNY about my order this morning (it wasn't showing on my PNY account) and it will be here Monday. I did receive an order confirmation Email, but no shipping Email, though the card was in fact shipped yesterday. Make sure you have matching addresses for bill/ship (they don't have Paypal).

If you call in and talk to a person they can confirm if they have inventory (I talked to Eric). It may not show up on your PNY account if you call in, so you may want to call a day or 2 later to give them time to ship.

So far dealing with PNY has been pleasant despite it not showing on my PNY account.

Reminder- Newegg has been listing cards around 4pm-5pm cst. Mainly Galaxy, MSI, and EVGA.

I am updating the top post if anyone is watching.

I've used that site to great effect. Allowed me to grab a GTX470 on launch day.

Think, What they did is push the limited supply out the door to stop the bleeding as to late launch to counter the 7970.

Comes down to money and the Cliff hangers as to which way to go.

Could be wrong, But doubt it.

PNY has always sort of had issues with their online systems. I couldn't register my GTX470 for it's lifetime warranty for a while after getting it because their systems weren't accepting the serial codes of a lot of the first run cards.

Their support on their forums was great however, the employees there responded quickly and with solutions to the issue that allowed me to register my card.

Card has been running great for me since I bought it, and it will be hard letting it go.

I saw a post from '04 people referenced when a large retailer at the time had a preorder fiasco with the 6800ultra. They blamed PNY, though, after reading 19 pages I could see every time PNY was directly involved instead of a 3rd party, they took care of their customers. Now this will be in the Googles so people can see a differing/recent opinion.

I also asked about their warranty and the guy(not Eric) said that you have a standard 1 year, but if you register it goes to 3 years. I asked if it was transferable and unless he was mistaken, all you need is the physical receipt even if you aren't the original owner.

Sadly the online system hasn't improved (the sales Email is the same as 8 years ago). But all person to person is great.

Looks like the 685 isn't coming out until sept/oct, but I think I am still going to wait for the 4gb version which appears to be expected in april/may.

If it was coming out in april/may I would have been game to wait, but sadly Sept/Oct is just too far out for me. Doing a new ivybridge build and it just doesn't make sense to buy a low end card only to swap it out later. If the system was already up and running I might consider waiting, but that's a bit too long to wait.

10-4 good buddy

After seeing the delay for proper supplies with this round of cards, it might take a little longer for the GK100. The 680 looks like it's hitting that low supply gouging stage, which will come with the 685 as well. If you don't get lucky early, you may be another month or more without the 685. Granted, Nvidia will have extra time for TSMC to make wafers for the 685 because the 7970/GK104 thing, but we will have to wait and see .

Going from GTX260sli will be a huge upgrade for me. And according to Guru3d the 680 is able to hit 1200-1250mhz (1300after Dynamic Boost) with little impact overall to anything but FPS(on stock air). I'm not yet sold on 2 extra monitors for peripheral vision, so I decided to skip the 4gb model, at least for now.....

Edit- just wanted to add- with the low supply, 680 4gb will probably be even harder to get a hold of and more expensive to boot. Plus no one is sure of the release date yet.

I'd be in the same boat if my situation was similar, but my setup is fine for now, especially due to a wc cpu & gpu.

Ahh if you haven't tried gaming in an eyefinity (surround) setup you don't know what you are missing. After going this route I just can't do anything else .

Here's a good demo to show you what you are missing...
http://www.amd.com/us/products/techn...eyefinity.aspx

It's tons of extra visual data you are missing by using only a single monitor. It's almost like cheating when playing multi-player games cause your viewable area is just so much higher.

Have to agree as to the visuals.

I just don't like the bezels and picture breakup that comes with it.

For me Just to distracting.
Like a clear line of site.
One big good Rez monitor here!
