How long before we hit 2 million in a day?
Obviously, it would help if everyone is producing what they can. Any guesses on when? It might be an interesting to guess. My guess is sometime Tomorrow. Any other guesses?

maybe if I can figure out why my CPU keeps getting this 8024 set that says 3 days to finish for 200 points and get it working on something useful I could help more. GPU on the other hand tearing up 8k. I love my 5870, it was expensive when it was new but man do I have high hopes for its life expectancy.

Man, 200 points in 3 days is brutal. Are you using the systray app or command line with the -smp option?

Points last 24 hours 2,007,061 Depends on what hour you look at it from.
I've been doing the 764X units and it's up to 8 thousand point reduction to complete those units. They seem to work the memory controllers making the GPU spend 20% of it's time idle, nature of the unit i guess. Even being worth 7718 points it's a 1/3 miscalculation on what I think it should be worth. |

Shucks, I missed it. In any case, we should hit it in the next few days with my second 4p coming online in the next couple of days. I just have to have enough time to assemble install etc.

Dr that sounds like it's trying to run the CPU as a uniprocessor. Change to expert mode go into the settings and delete the CPU client and add a new one that's smp and for the name and value out CPU and true. Give that a shot and let me know what that does.
Tomorrow we should see about a 250k spike. I'm at almost 80% with the 2p so I should be done in about 24ish hours providing it stays on and actually sends the wu. My fingers are crossed though. |

Good luck slider. My fingers are crossed for you while I'm putting together the 4 x 6172. I plan to pull the 2 x 6172s from the Asus and make it 2 x 6128 again. I expect the 2nd 4p will make 2M happen during the next few days if it actually runs. My fingers are crossed for that too. No wonder my build is going so slowly.
![]() Additional Comment: Slider, my 2 x 6128 is doing 44:50 tpf for a 6903, and my 4 x 6172 is running a 6904. Last edited by jimh425 : 04-14-2012 at 12:32 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

I just checked my tpfs to give you more data points. I'm running 10.04 LTS Ubuntu on each without Langouste.
9CL Memory 4 x 6172 - 6904 ~ 20:15 ~ 475K ppd 7CL Memory 4 x 6272 - 6903 ~ 15:40 ~ 427K ppd 2 x 6128 - 6903 ~ 44:20 ~ 89K ppd BTW, I've also got my checkpoint update at 30 minutes from 15 default. I don't know how much it helps with the 2p and 4ps, but it significantly raised my others ppd. I take the defaults on everything other than passing in -bigadv -smp. |

Man, I wish I had the money to get a 2p or 4p.
The laptop is folding nicely though, and giving me a 15k-20k ppd increase depending on what projects I get. |

honestly guitar if you can find the right deals and dont mind used stuff they really arent that expensive. ive spent well under 1k for my 2p since i had some stuff left over to use and i found great deals on ebay for processors for 150 each and the board i got which was ever so lightly used for about 2 weeks for a very fair price.
check hardforum's distributed computing fs/ft thread there is usually really good deals on there heres the link http://hardforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=111 Additional Comment: 2p should finish its unit in about 15-20 minutes and i will see how long it takes to send then im going into bios to see if i have something messed up to figure why my times are so much higher than before and higher than yours jim Additional Comment: jim let me get my hands on a 4p board and ill buy those 28's off ya

I can recommend ordering a 4p from wiredzone.com. They aren't the fastest shippers, but they have very good prices. I'd go Supermicro just in case you want to overclock. They have one board just over 640. I saw a couple of people who bought open box from Newegg for approx 400. I wouldn't buy a new server motherboard from Newegg again. Supermicro support is better than Tyan and Asus is just horrible for server boards. For a bare board, Supermicro is quite a bit less if you get it from Wiredzone. Unfortunately, I've used support/rma for all three.
BTW, I've had very good support for Asus for desktop boards.I haven't decided if I'm going to bother upgrading my 2p processors. I don't think it's probably worth the money for power for the points I get. I'm likely going to stop folding with my 2p fulltime and put it back to it's original use, vm host. I did score at a $375 average for the 6172s. If I find them that cheap, I might find it hard to not upgrade.

Congrats to you jim425! It feels nice to be knocked from number 1 to 2, it means more folding power. Just so happy to see the production numbers climb. 3.5 weeks to go before we tear another team down and grab number 36 rank. Also nice to see we are holding off other teams from taking us over for a while. Proud of all you guys!
