One more day for Fold-a-thon 3!

One more day left for Fold-a-thon 3. Please do what you can or give it a try if you haven't before. It's rather painless.

These 7640 units are so slow!! Things won't even use all of the GPU, makes you hover around 80%.

Just got a AIO water cooler installed. I was frying my CPU on stock cooler at 90c for a couple days! Temps are down to 60c on load @4.2Ghz...much better! I hope to climb into the top 100 again.

I have run some Laptop i-5 and i-7 at 90-100C with Intel burntest and they never complained, shutdown, threw errors etc for the 8 hours of so I stressed them.
I know of an i-5 2500K? that chugs along at 78-82C and its happy too.

For one thing, laptop chips are designed to take more heat than desktop chips. That being said, I'd never let my temps get that high.

Running a i7-2600K. Temps would max at 90c, and tMax out and throttle down the speedstep to a lower multi to save the Proc. It would get to about 77 and throttle up again. Would do this over and over while I was waiting for new cooler to ship from NewEgg. I figured the system would shut down before totally frying so a couple days at toasty temps is no biggie.

im sitting at about 96-97% on 2 764x runs right now once those are done im shutting the main rig down. 2p has been up for 48 hours straight so im thinking whatever was wrong is fixed now. should be done in about 2 days and hopefully it will actually send the unit.
